locator *update!*

The red square in the image above is where the SUF campus is located. The purple line is where the city walls of Florence were at one time located (but is now a main road of transport).

Here is a map so that you better understand where we live and work, in relation to the rest of the city.  We are just outside the main "ring" of the city.  I really like our apartment location because it is between the SUF campus where we have our general lectures in the morning, and our architectural studios which are in the afternoon. Like Spain, the people in Italy consider lunch as their main course of the day and will go home to eat their lunch.  (most shops and stores are therefore closed between the hours of 1-3, to enjoy their "siesta").  I am happy to say that I can also follow this lifestyle/pattern with ease, by going to my morning lecture classes at the Villa Rossa at SUF, and literally stop by at my apartment to each lunch, as it is practically on the way to my architecture building anyways.  ^^

Our cozy apartment

This is the entrance and corridor of our place.  Front door on the left and storage door to the right.

Phoebe's bed (red) and my bed (blue)

The kitchen!!! The counter has a nice modern feel.  We actually HAVE an oven and dishwasher but haven't used it yet.

Bathroom shot to the left; kitchen dining table to the right.  I love the pictures of the cows.
-_-

The doors in the kitchen lead to an outside patio, where we wash our clothes and hang them out to dry.

So you might have or have not heard of our nice apartment that we now live in.  Well, here are some shots of just how nice it is.  I am just loving the marble/granite floors and the huge kitchen.  We are provided plates, pots and pans from the landlady, who is very nice, approachable woman, btw.  The bathroom is also pretty big (but long) although the shower itself is pretty humble.  Plenty of space for placing all of my stuff drawers and the closets, although the single desk in our room is *minimal* for Phoebe and I.  We usually switch from working at our desk to using the kitchen table.

Test and startup!

This is a blog I am creating about my travels abroad in Firenze (Florence) and the fun adventures/discoveries that I find along the way.  This is my first time using the google blogger, so I apologize in advance for slow uploads, etc.
A little bit about myself: I am currently studying abroad in Florence and will be here for 4 months.  I expect, most of the time I will be busy with my architectural courses, but hope that this blog is a way for me to share with you the fun experiences I have, both with the school field trips that we are doing on the weekends, and my own travels around Firenze and beyond (hence the name of this blog).
